Out of 170 candidates who applied for a job at Jeanci Istanbul textile company, which is going to start its own production within the production hall of former Letex textile factory, 70 can count on getting the job.

Nenad Cvetkovic, a representative of the Taner family from Turkey, which is the owner of Jeanci Istanbul, says that they are preparing employment agreements and that the competition for the employment of new workers will be relaunched soon.

– Turkish employer will be satisfied if it employs minimum 500 textile workers by the end of the year, but the lack of manpower is a big problem. Applicants are mainly people older than 40, while the average age of candidates for such jobs in Turkey is 30 – says Cvetkovic and adds that the deficit of qualified textile workers is huge.

The investor from Turkey has rented one of three floors in Letex’s production hall and plans to make high-quality jeans for export to the EU in that rented space.
