Twenty new economic measures announced in Serbia

About 20 different measures are being considered, including tax cuts and wage contributions for new employees, and cash incentives to encourage companies to hire new workers.
In Serbia, according to the data of the Tax Administration and the Republic Bureau of Statistics, from the end of February to May 15, the number of employees increased by almost 7,000, the Minister of Finance Sinisa Mali stated.
Mali told RTS that, according to official data, on May 15, the total number of employees in Serbia, for whom taxes and contributions on salaries are paid, amounted to 2,196,372 euros, which is 6,988 euros more than on February 27, two or three weeks before the state of emergency and the coronavirus epidemic.
“We have almost 7,000 more employees and registered people than before the crisis. That means that we designed the measures well and we managed to save jobs,” said Mali, adding that many present various data, but that it is official statistics.
In the next few days, the Minister of Finance announced new measures aimed at additional employment.
“In the next few days, expect a nice, good, comprehensive incentive program for new employment,” said Mali.
About 20 different measures are being considered, among which are the reduction of taxes and contributions on salaries for new employees, incentives in money to encourage companies to hire new workers.
“Our goal, since we saved jobs, is to start new employment even more aggressively, in order to raise the living standard of citizens even more,” said Mali, Alo reports.
