The trainings will be carried out by eminent Serbian berry fruit experts in Surdulica, Vladicin Han, Kursumlija, Novi Pazar, Rekovac, Priboj, Prijepolje, Bajina Basta, Ljubovija and Mali Zvornik, and will target Producer Organizations.

Topics covered will relate to the growing of chokeberries, gooseberries, redcurrants, blackcurrants, wild strawberries and the introduction of new technologies for the cultivation of raspberries, strawberries and blackberries.

The aim of the diversification is to ensure the maintenance of the berry industry in Serbia and increase the country’s share of the global marketplace.

The USAID assistance will continue in Spring and Summer with the provision of field advisory assistance to growers who have invested in modernising their fields.
