Since the beginning of the implementation of the Regulation on Incentives for Investments in Audio-Visual Works back in April 2016, especially since our country has become one of the best shooting locations in this part of Europe, an increasing number of foreign, high-budget productions are coming to Serbia, the Novosti daily reports.

According to Ana Ilic, Senior Advisor to the Prime Minister for Creative Industries and Tourism, the production volume has tripled since 2016, over 150 projects have gone through the incentive program in four years and we have attracted more than EUR 100 million in foreign direct investment.

“The total film budget in 2019 is 18 times higher than in 2009 amounting to almost 17 million euros. The creative industry sector contributes to our GDP with three and a half to seven percent and to our gross value added with 13 percent,” she said.
