Investment projects in The Electric Power Industry of Serbia are progressing at a very good pace and there are no summer breaks on construction sites.
The largest works are taking place at the locations for the construction of block B3 in the Thermal Power Plant “Kostolac B3” and the desulphurization plant in the Thermal Power Plant “Nikola Tesla A”.
After more than three decades, block B3 of 350 megawatts will be built in Kostolac, and it will be a new, very important power for EPS and the electric power system of Serbia, this company announced.
“The works are currently being performed on 12 units for which a building permit has been obtained, the production and delivery of equipment has been intensified, as well as the execution of works,” says Vladimir Markovic, assistant of director of The Electric Power Industry of Serbia and Head of Key Investment Projects Department.
He says that the delivery of the generator is in progress, and the delivery of the turbine, steel structure and parts of the boiler plant is expected in September and October.
At the construction site of block B3 in Kostolac, about 380 Chinese and domestic workers are currently employed, and in total, more than half of the work has been done.
The most was done in the part of design where the degree of realization is 85 percent, in the segment of production and delivery of equipment it is almost 70 percent, while most of the work is left in the execution of works.
It is also very lively on the future location of the desulphurization plant in TENT A, and the cumulative progress on this construction site is more than 72 percent.
They point out that the works on the construction site are divided into two phases, and that as much as 90 percent of the design and engineering has been done, and more than 86 percent of the work has been done in the part of procurement and production of equipment.
They add that the equipment was delivered from abroad and stored until installation.
Also, the equipment from Serbia was partially delivered and is expected in the coming period in accordance with the intensity of activities and needs on the construction site.
They state that due to the increased volume of work on the construction of the pipeline and the construction of the cassette, one for the storage of gypsum is defined on December 28, 2022, as the deadline for completion, after which the warranty period of one year begins, B92 reports.
