Discussions on salaries, pensions to continue

Serbian PM Aleksandar Vucic and representatives of an IMF mission on Friday failed to reach an agreement on the extent of a pension and salary increase, but there are plans to continue dicussions on the matter in about ten days, the government press office said in a statement.

At a meeting with Vucic, the IMF representatives commended the good results achieved by Serbia and the state of its budget in terms of revenue, improved tax collection and expenditure cuts.

It was also noted that Serbia was still on the right path of stable macroeconomic and fiscal indicators.

The Mission said Serbia had made progress in restructuring the EPS and Srbijagas.

Vucic and the IMF officials, who are in Belgrade for discussions on the sixth review under a 1.2 bln euro precautionary stand-by arrangement with Serbia, also discussed topics related to the deal.
