The Innovation Fund has approved 450 thousand euros to finance 12 innovative enterprise projects aimed at suppressing the effects of a pandemic caused by a coronary virus, the Serbian government announced today.
In the short term, 12 solutions will be developed and made available for use, such as the first Serbian respirator, a new type of protective mask with removable HEPA filter for multiple and long-term use, disinfection booths intended for use in public places and locations of interest.
A mobile counter for contactless temperature measurement and manual disinfection will also be developed, as well as portable ozonizers for the rapid and safe disinfection of critical objects.
Following the entry into force of the emergency on March 16, the Innovation Fund prepared and published the public invitation within a record time, which was open until March 24, and despite a short period of time, received almost 300 proposals of innovative projects.
Given the urgency of the response, the Fund’s independent panel of experts gave priority to those solutions that were judged to be able to produce the most influential, rapid and strategically important response to specific problems, and the development of medicines and vaccines were not the subject of this public call, RTV reports.
