This morning, Srbijagas imported five million cubic meters of gas from Hungary due to a burst pipe within the compressor station on the gas pipeline in Bulgaria and the interruption of the delivery of that fuel to Serbia, General Manager Dusan Bajatovic told Tanjug, adding that all systems in gas supply in Serbia.
“Srbijagas provided intervention quantities of gas from Hungary with intervention imports of five million cubic meters of gas. And together with what we can produce in Banatski dvor, we will return the system completely to the parameters that are normal for the operation of the system for all consumers, households and industry,” said Bajatovic.
He added that Srbijagas is able to intervene tomorrow if necessary, since there are no exact data yet when the repair of the gas system in Bulgaria will be completed.
Bajatovic says that this morning, after three hours, a pipe burst in the area of the Provadia compressor station in Bulgaria, due to which the delivery of gas to Romania and Serbia was interrupted.
“In the meantime, the route to Romania has been mostly enabled, and as for the route to Serbia, work is being done on repairing the crack in the pipe. That caused a disturbance in the Serbian system due to the lack of gas,” Bajatovic explained.
From 4 pm, all systems in Serbia will be returned to those parameters in the gas supply that we need, Bajatovic said.
He adds that it is ungrateful to give estimates when the Bulgarians will fix the malfunction and that there is currently no accurate information.
“What we can expect to happen the fastest is for supplies from Bulgaria to stabilize tomorrow morning after six o’clock. If that doesn’t happen, Srbijagas will continue to carry out emergency gas imports from Hungary or Austria. Srbijagas’ expert services are working on that,” stated Bajatovic, Tanjug reports.
