A mine in Serbia worth 474 million dollars opens in the summer

Today, the Minister of Mining and Energy, Zorana Mihajlovic, held a meeting with Ximing Jian, General Director of the Chinese company “Zijin Copper”.
The meeting was also attended by the General Manager of “Zijin Mining”, Fu Feilong.
“The Ministry and relevant public companies from the energy and mining sectors are here to help you realize the investment that is extremely important for the state. We are here to support planned projects, as well as investments in green technologies and activities aimed at environmental protection. Enough. It was in the previous period, with a huge effort of the Ministry and EMS, we started the processes and things are now being resolved,” said Mihajlovic.
Among other things, the meeting focused on electricity supply, reconstruction of transformer stations in Majdanpek, flotation Veliki Krivelj and Bor 5, amendments to the Law on Mining, and continuation of mining activities in the mine Veliki Krivelj, the Ministry of Mining and Energy announced.
The interlocutors also agreed to organize a special meeting with the mayor of Bor and the local community on the topic of relocating the inhabitants of the village of Veliki Krivelj.
The General Manager of “Zijin Mining” presented the company’s activities at the opening of the “Cukaru Peki” mine and informed the Vice President that the opening of the mine is planned for the summer. Investments of 474 million dollars are projected for the development and construction of the upper zone of the “Cukaru Peki” mine.
It was also said at the meeting that the beginning of the operation of the copper and gold mine “Cukaru Peki” provides conditions for the exploitation of these ores with an annual capacity of 3.3 million tons and an increase in the production of copper concentrate, which is significant due to GDP growth and new jobs.
The meeting was also attended by the director of the “Electric Network of Serbia”, the director of the Bor Institute, as well as representatives of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Serbia, B92 reports.
