Today, the Assembly of Serbia confirmed several loan agreements.
The total value of all agreements is 768.8 million euros, which, as the Minister of Finance Sinisa Mali said, are key for further accelerated growth and development of the economy.
The funds will be used for further construction and improvement of traffic infrastructure, improvement of the environment and improvement of the public sector in Serbia.
Yesterday, the Minister presented in the Parliament the Law on Confirmation of the Loan Agreement between the French Development Agency and Serbia for the Realization of the Climate Resistant Urban Environment Program, as well as the agreement with the French Agency for the Railway Sector Modernization Project.
These are two program agreements that refer to the improvement, efficiency and transparency of the public sector, on the one hand, and the Green Agenda, on the other hand.
When it comes to the railway infrastructure, there will be reconstructions of a large number of railway crossings, revitalization of that infrastructure, renewal of the tracks, renewal of the tunnel in the center of Belgrade.
Speaking about the draft law which refers to the project of integrated development of the Sava and Drina corridors, that agreement, says Mali, is worth 78.2 million euros and the idea is to repair the embankments in all priority areas along the Sava corridor.
“Renovation of the embankment on Kolubara that protects Obrenovac, embankment in New Belgrade, support for the improvement of port infrastructure in Sremska Mitrovica, planning and development of tourism on the Sava and Drina corridors, including designing a master plan for nautical tourism and eco-tourism,” said Mali.
The deputies also adopted the Law on Confirmation of the Financial Agreement for the Construction of the Gas Interconnector from Nis to the Bulgarian Border, between Serbia and the European Investment Bank.
“This is one of the most important infrastructure projects at the moment, which should ensure a stable gas supply and diversify the ways in which gas reaches Serbia,” the minister said.
Mali also spoke about the Law on Confirmation of the Agreement on Financing the Construction of the Moravian Corridor, and the total value is 431.6 million euros.
“This is a project of national importance for the further development of Serbia. Construction has already started, and that part from Pojat to Krusevac will be finished by next year. The Moravian corridor will be the first digital highway,” stated Mali.
Mali said that the Moravian corridor, 112 kilometers long, will be ready by 2024, B92 reports.
