Announced investment of 7 million euros in green energy production in Nectar Serbia

The Nectar Group has announced a 7 million euros investment in green energy production and the introduction of new herbal packaging in its strategic commitment to sustainable business.
Nectar has announced a move to herbal packaging with its long-standing partner, the global leader in the cardboard packaging industry, TetraPak, the Nectar Group said in a statement, pointing out that this is a precedent in the region.
– These are packages that are 84% cane based on sugarcane, with 18% reduced carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions compared to standard packages – said Dusica Bojic, marketing manager of TetraPak for Southeastern Europe.
Further improvements in energy efficiency and investment of more than 7 million euros in sustainable energy sources, which use organic waste from fruit processing and other organic matter for the production of ‘green energy’ have been announced (biogas plant in Backa Palanka, biomass boiler in Vladicin Han) with a goal of 20% reduction in emissions by 2030.
– Through our partnership with local governments, we will work to improve our recycling waste model by improving water efficiency by at least 15% by 2027 and introducing a wastewater treatment system – said Mihailo Jankovic, CEO of Nectar Group at the presentation of the Sustainable Business Report, eKapija reports.
