The third Innovation Week has started in Belgrade. In the next five days, world and domestic experts will discuss the way in which technologies affect the change of the economy, society and the way we work and live.
The host of the conference, Finnish Ambassador Kimo Lahdevirta, says that the country strives for the development of artificial intelligence to be applied in business and public services.
As a small country, Finland cannot compete with big players such as Facebook or Alibaba, and that is why it must build its own forces and focus on areas in which it can be competitive,” said the Finnish ambassador.
According to him, the Finnish government is working on the “Aurora” program, whose goal is to create artificial intelligence, which will participate in the selection of public services, for example, when someone is looking for a new job.
Prime Minister Ana Brnabic says that by 2025, the Government will allocate 90 million euros for investments in the development of artificial intelligence in Serbia.
Brnabic says that the IT sector is the fastest growing sector in Serbia.
“Since 2016, the growth of the IT sector is higher than 20 percent annually, which is a fantastic percentage. Even in the face of the Covid crisis, we are still recording growth of 4.5 percent. It is a modest growth, but it will only show how much. This sector is resilient and how resilient our society and our economy will become, when we achieve our goal – an economy driven by innovations,” said Ana Brnabic.
The latest technologies such as artificial intelligence, robots, virtual reality, biotechnology, will change the largest sectors such as education, health, and banking.
Innovation Week is also dedicated to the creation and development of a regional innovation ecosystem and promotes the best solutions for economic growth and solving environmental challenges, RTS reports.
