Azerbaijan has backed Switzerland and Serbia’s candidacies for the post of OSCE chairman in 2014 and 2015 respectively.
Azerbaijani MFA reports that this statement was made by Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov in his speech at XVIII meeting of OSCE Council of Foreign Minister in Vilnius (Lithuania).
During the visit E. Mammadyarov met Lithuanian Foreign Minister Audronis Ajubalis and discussed cooperation issue in energy sector and within UNO. Following the meeting the sides signed an agreement on cancelation of visa regime for both countries’ diplomatic passport owners. E. Mammadyarov also held meetings with Great Britain Foreign Minister William Heig and Georgian Foreign Minister Grigol Vashadze. The sides discussed prospects of bilateral cooperation and other issues.
