The PM, who attended the presentation of a new post export service in the PTT Communications Serbia, said that mini reform was aimed at boosting overall economic growth, especially in the small and medium-sized company sector.  By the end of next week, the Serbian government will have adopted a draft budget for 2012, which is in accordance with the deadlines established in talks with the IMF, emphasized Cvetković. He said the budget had been drafted at a macro level and that a budget at a micro level for the next year was being discussed. The budget deficit in 2011 will amount to 4.5% of the GDP and a budget deficit of 4.25% of the GDP has been agreed upon for the next year. The PM said that his government had faced numerous challenges at the very start, the most important of which are reforms, whether they be political or economic, all aimed at creating a better business setting and bases for a better life of citizens.

Another challenge is the unexpected economic crisis. The turbulences at the European and global market have intensified the intent of the government to change the model of economic growth, which was based on a too high consumption and has generated a very high budget deficit. The model has been replaced with a new, export-oriented one. The PM emphasized that the promotion of a new post-export service formed part of the reforms implemented by the government and aimed at export promotion. He confirmed that the government has almost reached agreement on the purchase of 20% of the shares owned by Greek company OTE in the Serbian Telecom, but would not specify the details of that agreement, which is to be published very soon. However, the Serbian budget is not going to be encumbered with the amount of the money used for share purchase, nor will the public debt be increased, he said, adding that the sum to be spent on share purchase is an amount mentioned in the media, of approximately 380 million EUR.

The director of the PTT Communications Serbia, Goran Ćirić, said, presenting the latest postal product – post export, that the service simplified the package sending procedure, which can be very beneficial to small and medium-sized companies. This service is mostly intended for such companies, which number more than 300,000 in Serbia. This postal service represents an essential contribution to decentralization in Serbia. The procedure of filling in numerous export forms has now been reduced to a single paper, which can be sent either directly from a post office or via e-mail and the entire procedure does not last longer than six minutes. Some 80 contracts have been signed so far, the maximal value of a package is EUR 1,000 and weight limit 30kg and packages can be multiplied.
