For four consecutive months, the Belgrade Airport has been breaking records in the number of passengers, Tanjug is reporting.

The airport registered 438,980 passengers in October, a nine percent increase compared to the same period last year, the company said in a statement.

In this period, there were 5,098 take-offs and landings (a five percent increase), while the increase of postal and cargo traffic amounted to 19 percent.

Since the beginning of 2016, the airport has serviced 4.25 million passengers – “which offers realistic hopes that the five million mark will be reached by the end of the year,” the statement said.

The records in air traffic volumes have also had a positive effect on financial results, the airport said.
