The charge d’affaires at the Serbian Embassy in Beijing, Ivan Kandijas, told the Chinese Media Group (CMG) that China has greatly helped Serbia cope with the first wave of the corona virus epidemic.
“China is the first country to lend a helping hand by sending doctors from the ‘front line’, who with their expertise and advice helped in the fight against the pandemic, as well as numerous donations from Chinese official institutions, companies and citizens,” he said.
He pointed out that bilateral dialogue at the highest level has never been so rich and diverse, and only recently there have been a dozen mutual visits by leaders of Serbia and China, starting with “the historic visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Serbia in 2016” until last year’s visit of President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, to China.
Speaking about economic cooperation, Kandijas pointed out that it is necessary to increase the import of Serbian products to China in order to change the negative difference in trade to a certain extent.
“We expect an increase in the export activities of our producers of meat and meat products on the Chinese market, as well as the entry of producers of milk and dairy products, primarily cheese, on the Chinese market after export permits were obtained this year,” Kandijas said, Beta reports.
