Deadline for purchase of tender documentation for Telekom expires tomorrow

All interested potential buyers of Telekom Srbija should be aware that the deadline for purchase of the tender documentation expires tomorrow.

So far, the tender documentation for procurement of 51% of Telekom’s shares has been purchase by Deutsche Telekom, Telekom Austria and France Telekom, while Weather Investments and America Movil have been allowed to buy the documentation, but they have not done that yet.

Serbian Minister of Telecommunications Jasna Matic stated that she expected seven large companies to take part in the competition for Telekom Srbija.

The companies that buy the tender documentation will be able to submit their bids for takeover of the majority share in Telekom prior to February 21, 2011, while the auction should be held and broadcast on national television in late February.

Serbian Ministry of Finance announced on October 20 a tender for sale of 51% of shares of Telekom Srbija, of which total value is estimated at 2.43 billion euros.

Telekom Srbija turned a profit of 13.3 billion dinars in 2009, which made it the company with the largest net profit in the market of Serbia.

Telekom Srbija owns telecommunication companies m:tel in Montenegro and Telekom Srpske in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
