For the preparation of local rural development strategies of Serbia 150 thousand euros

The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, the Rural Development Sector and the Agrarian Payments Authority have signed contracts with representatives of territorial rural development partnerships, which have been granted incentives worth more than 150 thousand euros.

Incentives were approved on the basis of a Public Call for Support for programs related to the preparation and implementation of local rural development strategies in accordance with the LEADER approach.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Agriculture, the preparation and implementation of local rural development strategies in line with the LEADER approach is a significant measure of rural development that addresses specific problems at the local level.

They state that they enable the population organized in territorial rural development partnerships to implement smaller local projects of importance for the development and improvement of quality of life in rural areas.

Small projects may include activities such as: organizing village festivals, participating in fairs and events, purchasing materials and equipment (computers, furniture and equipment for common rooms, tourist information boards, signboards, production of publications and promotional material, renovation of small-scale public buildings…).

The aforementioned Public Call foresees support for the preparation of Local Rural Development Strategies (LSRR), and the public invitation for the implementation of the LSRR, that is, the implementation of small projects is foreseen for the second half of 2020, Dnevnik reports.
