Foreign tourist arrivals to Serbia rise 24% in March

The number of foreign tourists who visited Serbia in March grew 23.8% on the year, reaching 98,429, statistical office data showed on Friday.

The number of overnights spent by foreign tourists in Serbia rose by 18.8% year-on-year, to 216,830 in March, the data indicated.

In the first quarter of 2017, the total number of foreign tourists rose 10.3% year-on-year to 234,429.

The number of Croatian tourists who visited Serbia in March was the highest, 8,211, up 38.3% on the year. Bosnian citizens followed, up 22% to 8,082. Visitors from Bulgaria came third, up 3.5% to 7,725.

The number of domestic tourists increased 4.8% on the year to 103,853 in March, taking the total number of tourists to 202,282, up 13.2% on the year.
