Good bilateral relations are an excellent basis for greater economic cooperation between Serbia and Iran, it was stated today at the meeting of the Minister of Finance Sinisa Malog with the Deputy Minister of Industry, Mining and Trade of Iran, Alirez Pejmanpak.
It was announced that the topics of discussion were economic cooperation with an emphasis on trade and the economy.
Mali introduced the interlocutor to the good macroeconomic results that Serbia achieved in the previous two years, during the corona virus pandemic.
He stated that Serbia attracted 3.9 billion euros in foreign direct investments last year, more than in the year before the start of the pandemic.
Pejmanpak emphasized that cooperation between businessmen from Serbia and Iran is important, and that a working group of two chambers of commerce and a joint committee for cooperation will be formed.
The interlocutors agreed that it is important to establish the most favorable conditions for mutual cooperation, so that businessmen find interest in working together.
The potential for closer cooperation between the two countries was also recognized in tourism, research, science and technology.
Pejmanpak emphasized that they will invite Iranian investors to come to Serbia and that they are open to the possibility of joint investments, RTV writes.
