Growth of industrial production 2.7 percent

The growth of industrial production in July amounted to 2.7 percent year-on-year, the energy and processing industries contributed the most to it, while a slight decrease of 0.5 percent was recorded in the mining sector, announced the National Bank of Serbia (NBS).

Within the manufacturing industry, activity growth was recorded in 13 out of 24 branches, where the production of basic metals, pharmaceutical products and computers and electronic products contributed the most.

Observed in the period from January to July this year, industrial production achieved year-on-year growth of 1.9 percent.

Within the service sector, the real decline in turnover in retail trade continued, which in July amounted to 3.2 percent year-on-year. In the period from January to July, turnover in retail trade was lower by 4.7 percent year-on-year in real terms.
