E-commerce increased by more than 16% globally during the previous year, and experienced the greatest expansion in Central and Eastern Europe, while in Serbia it doubled during the state of emergency, Namics announced today based on data from the eMarketer platform specializing in e -shop.
When it comes to the most sought-after products, GoogleTrend’s analysis of global trends showed that during 2020, the most sought-after products were sports equipment, mattresses, pillows, pet beds, board games, air fresheners and disinfectants, according to Namics. It is characteristic of Serbia that users are increasingly using digital platforms.
The analysis points out that this is a consequence of the corona virus pandemic and that consumers have changed their habits and reoriented themselves to online shopping due to limited population movements and shortened store hours.
Changes in consumer habits and the increasing use of e-commerce will also affect the IT industry, said Philip Gort from Namics.
“It is assumed that access to the Internet via mobile phones will continue to grow, that many processes will be automated and that the sites will respond to the behavior of an individual user,” says Gort, Danas reports.
