Inflation, Consumer Prices, and EUR Exchange Rate for October

Consumer prices of goods and services for personal consumption in October 2023, compared to September 2023, on average, recorded an increase of 0.3%.

Consumer price indices are defined as a measure of the average changes in retail prices of goods and services used for personal consumption.

Consumer prices of goods and services in October 2023, compared to September 2023, increased on average by 0.3%. Consumer prices in October 2023, compared to the same month of the previous year, increased by 8.5%, while compared to December 2022, on average, they increased by 7%.

Looking at the main groups of products and services classified according to consumption purpose, in October 2023, compared to the previous month, a decrease in prices was recorded in the Communication group (-0.1%).

Price increases were recorded in the Education (2.9%), Clothing and Footwear (1.7%), Health (0.8%) groups, as well as in the groups of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco, Household Appliances and Maintenance, and Restaurants and Hotels (0.5% each), Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas, and Other Fuels (0.3%), and in the groups of Transport and Recreation and Culture (0.2% each).

Prices of other products and services did not change significantly.
