In the first quarter of 2020, Serbia generated 221 million euros of its own insurance premium, which, together with 3.3 million euros of premium received from co-insurance, represents an increase of 17.5 million euros or 8.5 percent compared to the same period last year, it is showed in the analysis of the Association of Financial Institutions of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (SCC).
The growth of 12.5 million euros was realized in non-life and 5 million euros in life insurance.
“As far as non-life insurance is concerned, there is a dynamic growth of voluntary health insurance, crop and fruit insurance, general liability and casco, and the double-digit growth of life insurance premiums is especially encouraging,” the statement reads.
The highest growth is recorded in the tariff “Other property insurance”, mostly in the area of “Insurance of buildings under construction”.
The largest share is still held by motor third party liability insurance premiums, with about 60 million euros, which is about 35 percent of the total non-life insurance premiums realized in the first quarter of this year, Nova Ekonomija reports.
