The President of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (PKS) Marko Čadež said today that the fact that Belgrade was chosen to host the specialized international exhibition „Expo 2027“ is perhaps „the biggest thing that Belgrade has been able to organize“.

Čadež told B92 television that this is certainly a good sign for everyone, especially for the economy, and that it is expected that Belgrade will be visited by more than three million people during the three months of the exhibition.

“Last year, we had about a million foreign tourists in Belgrade and an income of some 2.5 billion euros,” said Čadež, adding that during the international exhibition there will be about a billion euros in income.

Čadež stated that “indirect effects” are more important than direct income, i.e. the fact that the fair complex will remain, and foreign companies will recognize Belgrade as a good place to do business.

“Belgrade is becoming a trade fair center that will be able to compete with Frankfurt and Paris,” said Čadež.
He said that more than 100 countries are expected to participate in “Expo 2027”.
