It is time for Serbia to adapt to new business trends

The first thing the Center did when it was founded was to research the MSME sector on the level of their digital transformation.
More than 350 companies participated in the research, and the results show that as many as 60 percent have not realized any digital projects so far, nor do they plan to engage in that plan in the future.
It is encouraging that of the other 40 percent of companies surveyed, as many as 90 percent are planning digital projects in the form of establishing a website, opening an e-mail account, or implementing simple sw. It is a kind of digital transformation, but not even close to what that process provides.
The fact is that in the year of CDT’s existence, we have done a lot to raise awareness among the MSME sector about the importance of this topic. A large number of companies that have applied for our consulting program speak in favor of that statement, as well as their participation in our gatherings dedicated to that topic.
Digital transformation is a process that lasts. Nothing can be changed overnight, but it is important that the first step is taken. What CDT offers companies is a complete set of co-financed services that lead to their digital transformation.
For a start, we provide them with certified consultants (a unique base in this area). Each consultant went through serious selection criteria, intensive training with foreign lecturers and finally certification according to ISO standard 17024. They work with company representatives on expert analysis, after which they develop a digital strategy, and then provide support in implementing the solution defined in the strategy.
It should be emphasized that the digital transformation of business involves not only automation or insertion of technology into the existing process (digitization) in order to optimize the current value chain, but also modifying the business model. Customers will also demand modernization, streamlining and simplification of current business processes.
The digital transformation of business offers enormous opportunities when it comes to innovation and competitive advantage, but it will require a change in the organization – cultural, strategic, technological, as well as operational changes – where processes play an important role along with data.
Finally, it is important to point out that digitalization is not enough for a complete digital transformation of business, it is necessary to respond to new business models supported by new automated business processes that enable the offer of new products and services to its customers.
It should not be lost sight of that one of the key advantages of companies embarking on the digital transformation is tighter control of business processes and activities, then a mechanism for measuring changes in revenues, costs and profits. There is also help in gaining and retaining customers, as well as preventing them from leaving.
We should not neglect the help in gaining new profitable customers as well as the efficient management of available resources in order to achieve the company’s goals.
Therefore, it is time to adapt to new business trends and to accept new technologies that “will never develop so slowly again,” Danas reports.
