Serbia must position tourism in the economic agenda as an economic branch that not only grows constantly, but also has the most positive effect on other branches – agriculture, transport, trade and telecommunications, stated minister in charge Rasim Ljajic. He has explained that in the past 15 years the revenues from tourism have grown 50 times over, and pointed that in 2013 Serbia achieved the record income around 800 million dollars, while in 2000 it was barely 20 million. This growth has been realized even despite the insufficient investments, unlike the subsidies and incentives to the automotive industry or agriculture, Ljajic stressed. He has re indeed that the budget for incentives in tourism this year amounts to some 13 million euros.
