Credy Banka is also expected to join MoneyGram’s network of agents next year, Vice President Massimo Canovi said Wednesday.

MoneyGram operates in Serbia since 2008 through the company Yassaline, which is a “super agent” at Agrobanka, and through direct agents such as Volksbank and Alpha Bank.

Together with new agents in Serbia, MoneyGram is present in more than 192 countries, operating in a total of 256,000 locations worldwide, said Canovi.

– Serbia is a very important market for our company, and the addition of new agents to our netwok is part of current efforts aimed at improving the quality and availability of quick, secure and simple money transfer services rendered by MoneyGram – he explained.

– As one of the quickest-growing money transfer companies, MoneyGram is focused on expanding its network in order to satisfy the needs of its users all around the world, and in Serbia as well – said Canovi.

MoneyGram’s Regional Director Marieta Doxopulou stated that Serbia was the first among the countries of former Yugoslavia and the third or fourth in Europe in the amount of money received from abroad.

MoneyGram has 2,350 direct employees worldwide and carries out two thirds of all transactions in the USA and one third in the rest of the world. The company’s market share has grown from 2 to 5% over the last five to six years.

As the company’s representatives underlined, the money transfer market is constantly growing, and it has been reporting a two-digit growth in the past 10 years.
