The total amount of loans approved so far from the Development Fund exceeded 19 million euros, while the total value of requests sent by businessmen to the Fund is almost 125 million euros.
State Secretary in the Ministry of Economy Dragan Stevanovic told Tanjug that another 130 loans were approved at yesterday’s session of the Fund’s Management Board, which together are worth around 3 million euros.
From the beginning of the realization of the Fund’s program, which provided 200 million euros for assistance to companies in Serbia, until today, about 1,600 requests have arrived in the Development Fund.
“Of these requests, about 500 were ready to enter the procedures of the Board of Directors, and 410-412 were approved, while 89 loans were rejected because they do not meet the requirements in accordance with the Fund’s program. The total value of approved loans is just over 19 million euros and the total value of the received requests is as much as 125 million euros,” states Stevanovic.
Given this dynamics of application, Stevanovic expects that the Fund’s program will be realized by the end of the year.
From the moment when the registration of businessmen began, about 2 million euros were deposited in the accounts of the companies.
In order for all those who apply for money with the Development Fund to receive money, it is necessary that all documentation be in accordance with the propositions prescribed by the Fund.
This means that they must provide documentation proving that they have all the necessary collateral until the Fund approves the payment.
Requests come from all areas of the economy, from production to trade and service activities, which confirms, Stevanovic notes, that in the beginning, when economic aid measures were adopted, the sectoral approach was not adequate.
However, he is currently working on a program that could have the character of sectoral assistance for those who suffered great damage caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
“These days, we are working on a program that may have the character of a sector, but we will talk about that in the coming days, and it will refer to those parts of the economy that were most affected in this crisis,” Stevanovic said.
When it comes to the structure of companies that applied for funds from the Development Fund, Stevanovic says that three quarters of the requests come from micro companies, while one quarter comes from small and medium enterprises and entrepreneurs, Dnevnik reports.
