The state will help the airline “Air Serbia”, whose losses are over 40 million euros, announced the line minister Zorana Mihajlovic.
She assessed for TV Prva that “Air Serbia” is “elastic enough to be able to adapt”, while, as she said, many large foreign companies are on the verge of bankruptcy, and the losses in European air traffic are higher than 160 billion euros.
“Air Serbia” is “small, it is not indebted, it has 20 planes…and the state is here to create conditions for it to work,” the minister said.
She reminded that during the state of emergency in Serbia due to the pandemic, that company brought from abroad citizens who could not return on their own, and medical equipment.
The Serbian government will discuss the procurement of new planes, the minister announced, adding that “now is a good time for that” and that “Air Serbia” can “make further progress”, Beta reports.
