As is known, on June 29th, the shareholders’ meeting of this company approved the payment of a dividend in the amount of EUR 1.22 per share. June 19th was set as the dividend day.
Seen in the total amount, shareholders will receive a record dividend in the amount of EUR 199 million. As in previous years, except in the year of the pandemic, shareholders will receive 25 percent of the realized profit, although their expectations were higher considering last year’s record results.
Instead, immediately before the appointment of the shareholders’ assembly, NIS awarded the state, the largest minority shareholder, a donation in the amount of 60 million euros, which led to the disappointment of the investment public.
This decision, as well as the later announced worse results for the second quarter, significantly reduced the interest of investors in NIS shares, which these days are modestly traded at levels below EUR 5.97.
NIS started paying dividends starting in 2013, and until now, including this year’s payment, shareholders have been paid a cumulative dividend of EUR 4.66 per share.
