Panasonic’s plant in Svilajnac starts production on January 10, 2011

Japanese company Panasonic, which formed in November a company for production of energy-efficient electronic components for lighting systems in Serbia, with the headquarters in Svilajnac, is going to start production on January 10, 2011.

– The plant is ready, machines are installed, and 65 people has been employed – said Svilajnac Deputy Mayor Predrag Milanovic.

Milanovic explained that Panasonic would not start the production on January 1st, as announced earlier, because of the Christmas holidays.

This is the first project of this company in Serbia, aimed at increasing the capacities for production of electronic dimmers for LD modules for the market of Europe.
