The National Bank of Serbia has opened the space for reducing the share in loans for the purchase of the first apartment.
It did this by adopting the Decision on Amendments to the Decision on Measures to Preserve and Strengthen the Stability of the Financial System. According to NBS, banks will be able to approve housing loans in the maximum amount of 90 percent of the value of the mortgaged real estate.
Now, buyers of apartments will be able to participate in the purchase of real estate with 10% of its value, provided that they have not owned the real estate so far.
On that occasion, the Deputy Mayor of Belgrade, Goran Vesic, stated that this decision of the NBS will encourage the development of housing construction. As he says, this year, as of May 31, building permits were issued for almost 550,000 square meters.
“This implies that building permits for more than 1,100,000 square meters will be issued this year. In that way, the trend from the previous three years will continue, in which we issued building permits for more than 1,000,000 square meters every year,” he says, BiF reports.
