Revitalization of block 6 in Nikola Tesla steam power plant in Obrenovac finished – Investment worth €107 million

The Electric Power Company of Serbia (EPS) announced today that 107 million euros worth of revitalization of block 6 in Nikola Tesla steam power plant (TENT) in Obrenovac had been finished.

According to the company’s statement, the capacity of block 6 is now 40 MW larger, daily production is 13% bigger, while the value of the production growth on annual basis amounts to minimum 15 million euros.

– Instead of previous 2 billion kWh, block 6 will be delivering 300m kWh more to the power supply system of Serbia every year. At the minimum price of EUR 0.05 per kWh, the production growth on annual basis is worth minimum about 15 million euros – reads the statement.

The statement also reads that the EPS has invested about 102 million euros from its own electricity sales revenue in revitalization of block 6, while the EU donation of 5.5 million euros was spent on the reconstruction of electric filters, which cost a total of about 10 million euros.

By the way, renovation of blocks in Nikola Tesla steam power plant commenced in 2003 and a total of 450 million euros has been invested in modernization of all units.
