Minister without portfolio in charge of innovation and technological development Nenad Popovic said at the opening of the First Investment Conference “Invest Srpska 2021” in Laktasi that Serbia and Republika Srpska are building a common economic future that will bring prosperity to the Serbian people on both sides of the Drina.
He pointed out that the key to the economic progress of each country is knowledge and that the greatest potential for the development of Serbia and Republika Srpska are young engineers and innovators.
“We are the people of Nikola Tesla and Mihailo Pupin. As their inventions changed the course of civilization at that time, today some new Serbs, our young engineers, are creating solutions that are changing the world. They are our future,” said Popovic, it was announced from his office.
He reminded that in the past few years, Serbia had invested more than 100 million euros in the construction of innovation infrastructure and startup ecosystems, which led to the fact that the export of services from Serbia in the field of information and communication systems in 2020 reached 1.44 billion euros, N1 reports.
