Supported byClarion Owner's Engineer

Last year, due to adverse weather conditions, we had 260 thousand tons less fruit than in 2022. Although adverse weather conditions repeat from year to year, 2023 was particularly catastrophic, experts say, the worst in the last 30 years.

Davor Gorinović from Tavankut and his family have been engaged in fruit production since 2000, and they established a modern cherry orchard in 2015, seeing a good opportunity for development. However, in recent years, the situation in fruit production has become increasingly challenging.

In addition to high production costs, unfavorable weather conditions have led to a drastic reduction in fruit production last year.

Experts say that the occurrence of high winter temperatures in recent years has become a common occurrence, adding that fruit growers must adapt production to new weather conditions.

Producers emphasize that they are trying in every possible way to cope with the new production conditions, and experts hope that this year will be better than the last, the worst in the last 30 years.
