Bosch, the prominent global provider of technology and services, concluded its fiscal year 2023 in Serbia with a total net sales of 443 million euros. This figure includes sales from non-consolidated companies and internal deliveries to related entities, marking a notable 23% increase compared to the previous year. Sales to third parties also saw a significant rise, reaching 85.6 million euros in 2023, representing a 7% growth.

The robust expansion of the Bosch Group in Serbia is evidenced by the increased workforce, which surpassed 4,100 employees as of December 31, 2023, reflecting a remarkable 21% surge. Throughout 2023, the company continued to advance across all three key domains in which Bosch operates in Serbia – manufacturing, sales, and services. Jovanka Jovanović, General Manager and Representative of the Bosch Group in Serbia, expressed optimism about the company’s trajectory, citing its position as the second-largest contributor to Serbia’s automotive industry revenue. Despite economic challenges, Bosch anticipates steady business growth in 2024.

The Pećinci factory, a pivotal production hub, celebrated a decade of operations in Serbia. This facility plays a vital role in manufacturing essential automotive components, including windshield wiper systems, wiper blades, motors, and the latest addition, window lifters. Its consistent contribution has solidified Bosch’s position among the top exporters in Serbia, ranking 7th in 2023.

Alongside manufacturing, Bosch has made significant strides in its IT sector. In 2023, the Belgrade location ascended to one of four key IT hubs within the Bosch Digital division in Europe and one of nine worldwide. The establishment of the Engineering Center further underscores Bosch’s commitment to innovation, with Serbian IT engineers spearheading various projects focused on software solutions for mobility, particularly in connected technologies for the automotive sector.

The sales division of Bosch has been instrumental in distributing automotive spare parts, safety systems, and consumer goods across Serbia, Montenegro, and North Macedonia. Notably, there has been an expansion of the product portfolio and enhanced availability in the markets serviced by the local subsidiary.

Bosch’s commitment to social responsibility is reflected in its support for over 30 initiatives and projects in Serbia during 2023. From education and healthcare to traffic safety and environmental protection, the company has actively contributed to various causes, including a partnership with the Education Group aimed at enhancing high school education through innovative “makers lab” spaces.

Looking ahead to 2024, Bosch aims to sustain its growth trajectory despite ongoing economic challenges. With strategic investments in electric vehicle production, hydrogen technology, and heating systems, Bosch remains poised to navigate market dynamics and lead innovation in a rapidly evolving landscape. Despite uncertainties, the company remains steadfast in its commitment to sustainable development, emphasizing the importance of collaborative efforts to address pressing environmental concerns and drive positive change.
