The company that creates “technology for life” has been present in our country for more than two decades. Today, Bosch operates in Serbia at two locations, in Novi Beograd and Pećinci, and has more than 4,000 employees, of whom about 50 percent are women, many of whom are in leadership positions.

Part of the Bosch Group in Serbia is also BSH Home Appliances, which are successfully positioned among the leading consumer brands in Serbia.

At the helm of the company since its inception is Jovanka Jovanović, with whom we talked about what marked 2023 for Bosch.

You have been a part of Bosch in Serbia for two decades. What will you remember about 2023?

Every year brings new successes and challenges, and what I will remember about this year, especially in the business domain, is the first decade of our factory in Pećinci, further development of the Bosch IT sector through the establishment of the Engineering Center in Belgrade, and joining a fantastic initiative to improve the education of high school students in Serbia through a national partnership with the Education Group. Also, we are all aware that challenges facing the global market, especially the automotive industry, are still present as consequences of the pandemic. Despite that, we set high goals because we have everything we need to overcome them – years of experience and expertise, innovative technologies, and the ability to adapt.

Are you satisfied with the results your company achieved this year?

I am extremely satisfied because Bosch in Serbia has been achieving excellent results for years in terms of the development of production capacities and product range, product distribution, and employee growth. Preliminary results show that this has been a very successful year for us, as evidenced by the fact that we are once again on the list of the top ten exporters in our country. Additionally, in 2022, Bosch in Serbia ranked second in terms of the highest total revenue in the automotive industry, as well as net profit. Our growth emphasizes the potential of Serbia as a location for future growth, business development, and further investments.

This year, you marked a significant jubilee for the factory in Pećinci – 10 years since its opening. What will you remember most about the first decade?

The decade since the opening of the Pećinci factory, which is the largest Bosch factory for the production of wiper systems in Europe, was marked by a family day for all employees working in the factory. I will remember it, above all, because our factory was soon declared the best young Bosch factory shortly after opening. In addition, it is the recipient of several awards from customers collaborating with Bosch, as well as recognition of the quality it provides to global customers worldwide.

By establishing the Bosch Engineering Center in Belgrade, you continued the development of the company’s IT sector. What are the engineers employed there focused on?

The Engineering Center in Belgrade is part of the global network of Bosch Engineering Centers, and the engineers in Serbia are currently working on various innovative projects focused on the development of software solutions for mobility. The focus of the Engineering Center is on the development of software solutions in the field of connected technologies used in the automotive industry, such as software-defined vehicles, navigation, autonomous driving, infotainment systems for drivers, etc. With a team of talented engineers who closely collaborate with other Bosch locations and clients worldwide, we contribute from Belgrade to the development of products and services that make driving more comfortable and safer.
