DuÅ¡an Bajatović, General Director of Srbijagas, announced in St. Petersburg that he reached an agreement with Gazprom’s Chairman, Aleksei Miller, for additional gas supplies to Serbia during the winter season.

“We agreed on additional deliveries of gas for the heating season,” Bajatović stated, following their meeting at the International Gas Forum. Discussions focused on ensuring a secure supply of Russian gas to consumers in Serbia.

Bajatović anticipates that winter gas deliveries will amount to approximately 400 million cubic meters. He mentioned that the extension of the current gas supply contract with Russia will likely be reviewed in the first quarter of 2025.

Furthermore, Bajatović confirmed that both countries have initiated efforts to expand the underground gas storage facility in Banatski Dvor, which was also a topic of discussion during his meeting with Gazprom.

It was agreed that Russian technology would be utilized for this project, and contracts for the necessary equipment were signed on October 8. The plan is to expand the Banatski Dvor facility to accommodate 750 million cubic meters of gas, with additional storage in Cestereg in northern Serbia.
