In May, total indebtedness to banks in Serbia rose by 5.2% year-on-year, surpassing 30 billion euros for the year. Household debt for housing loans increased by 2%, while consumer loans grew by 11.5%. Agricultural loan debts surged by over 30%, according to the latest Credit Report from the Association of Banks of Serbia (UBS).
Cash loans were up by 5.6% compared to last May and 1% from April. Corporate indebtedness increased by 5.2%, and for entrepreneurs, it rose by 6.8%, with the average entrepreneur having 1.7 loans.
Serbia has 42,881 agricultural loan users, and the average individual’s leasing debt is 2.09 million dinars. The arrears rate remained stable at 2.8%.
The number of current accounts slightly increased by 2% compared to last year, with users up by 1%. Conversely, credit cards and users decreased by 1%.
