Serbia was the top destination in the world last year in terms of the growth rate of revenue from foreign tourists compared to 2019, according to the latest report from the United Nations Tourism Barometer, as announced by the Ministry of Tourism.

“In 2023, according to preliminary data from the National Bank of Serbia, a record revenue from foreign tourists was achieved, amounting to 2.5 billion euros, which is about 80% more than in 2019,” states the Ministry of Tourism on its Instagram account.

This result, it is added, was mainly contributed to by the trend of increasing the number of foreign tourists after the pandemic, especially in 2023, when 2.1 million foreign guests were recorded, which is one-fifth more than a year earlier.
