In 2023, Belgrade was visited by a total of 1,384,616 tourists who generated 3,453,132 overnight stays in accommodation facilities, as announced today by the Tourist Organization of Belgrade (TOB).
Out of the total number of tourists, 1,191,270 were foreigners, marking a 21 percent increase compared to the previous year, according to data from the Secretariat for Administration of Belgrade.
Of the total registered overnight stays, nearly three million were attributed to foreign guests, representing an 11 percent growth compared to the previous year.
In 2023, the highest number of tourists came from Turkey, totaling 145,159, which represents an increase of 89 percent compared to 2022.
Following Turkish tourists were guests from Russia, with 111,905 visitors, and from Germany, with 67,841. Other significant sources of tourists included visitors from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, China, Greece, Romania, the United States, and Italy.
The director of the Tourist Organization of Belgrade (TOB), Miodrag Popović, stated that Belgrade is the destination most visited by foreign guests.
“Statistical indicators are the result of all our activities throughout the year, both business and promotional campaigns, and at the same time, they confirm the quality of Belgrade’s tourist offer,” said Popović, adding that this year TOB will focus on new and promising, growing markets – Italy, Romania, Spain.
