Serbia is open to new investments in the field of energy and there is room for talks on new projects, News
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Mining and Energy, Prof. Dr. Zorana Mihajlovic, talked today with the representatives of the company Terna about investments in the field of energy. She said that Serbia is open for new investments in the field of energy and that there is room for talks about new projects.
“This is practically a new Ministry, because by passing four laws we have created completely different conditions for the energy transition process. In that process we want to cooperate with the best companies in the field of energy. Our investment plan in the field of energy and mining includes projects worth 17 billion euros “which is a significant part for electricity and RES. So there is room for cooperation and you are welcome to work with us,” she said.
Mihajlovic said that the Trans-Balkan Corridor, as well as other connections, is the key to regional connectivity, which is also part of the vision of a green agenda and ensures energy stability.
Giovanni Cerciarini, CEO of Terna, said that in addition to cooperation with EMS, which is important for the entire region, there is a possibility of the company’s participation in increasing the use of RES.
“The Trans-Balkan corridor is very important for both countries, but also for the region. We want to strengthen cooperation with EMS, and we also want to participate in strategic projects, because we see Serbia as an energy hub,” he said.
Carlo Lo Caso, the ambassador of Italy, emphasized the importance of cooperation in the energy sector, which will affect the overall economic relations. We also have the support of the Italian Government for that. This is definitely an area where there are many opportunities for the development of economic relations, RTV reports.
