President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic stated today in Obrenovac that a decision has yet to be made whether our country will participate in the construction of nuclear power plants in the surrounding countries or will make modular nuclear power plants (small modular nuclear reactors).

– We get 68 percent of electricity from coal and we have to work on making new capacities from renewable sources, but we will also have to make base capacities. What we will decide on, we will see in the years ahead – whether to participate in nuclear power plants in the surrounding countries or we will be able to make these modular ones – said Vucic during his visit to TENT B. The president said that work on obtaining electricity from solar and wind energy and from other renewable sources.

– But, we need what is safe and what brings electricity without any doubt in the sun and rain and snow and different meteorological conditions – Vucic emphasized, Novosti reports.
