Freedom and Justice Party vice president accuses Minister of Mining and Energy of damaging Serbian economy with high electricity prices

Vice President of the Freedom and Justice Party (SSP) Dušan Nikezić today accused the Minister of Mining and Energy, Dubravka Đedović-Handanović, of “skinning” Serbian businessmen with an electricity price of 120 euros per megawatt hour (MWh), even though the producer price of Elektroprivreda Srbije (EPS) is 54 , and the market price on the stock exchange is 70 euros, that party announced.

By doing so, you significantly reduce the competitiveness of our economy and directly encourage the growth of prices and inflation. And not only that.

With such a short-sighted policy, you will cause enormous damage to EPS, since the competition already offers large consumers electricity at a price that is 20 percent lower than EPS, which can lead to a significant loss of market position and a drop in income of several hundred million euros, Nikezić pointed out in a written statement.

He asked the Minister of Energy whether she consciously continues to destroy EPS or simply does not know what she is doing, and that is of no concern to citizens and businessmen, because the consequences of her “inexpert and corrupt management of the energy sector are disastrous”.
