Real GDP growth in the fourth quarter of 2023 3.8%

The real growth of the gross domestic product in the fourth quarter of 2023, compared to the same period of the previous year, was 3.8%.

As stated in the report of the Republic Institute of Statistics, the seasonally adjusted data series shows a growth of the gross domestic product in the fourth quarter of 2023 of 0.9% compared to the previous quarter.

The real growth of gross domestic product in 2023, obtained on the basis of quarterly calculations, was 2.5% compared to the previous year. The annual growth rate of the gross domestic product, as a result of the annual calculation, will be published on October 1, 2024 in the announcement Gross domestic product, 2023, according to the RZS.

Observed by activities, in the fourth quarter of 2023, compared to the same period of the previous year, a significant real growth of gross added value was recorded in the agriculture, forestry and fishing sector, 7.7%, wholesale and retail trade and motor vehicle repair sector , transport and storage and accommodation and catering services, 3.4% and the construction sector, 7.4%.

Observed by aggregates of use of gross domestic product, in the fourth quarter of 2023, compared to the same period of the previous year, real growth was recorded in all aggregates: expenditures for final consumption by households, 2.5%, expenditures for final consumption by non-profit institutions that provide services to households (NPID), 3.4%, expenditures for the final consumption of the state, 5.9%, gross investments in fixed assets, 5.2%, export of goods and services, 0.3% and import of goods and services, 4, 2%.
