Serbia should not give up on its path toward the European Union as that path is one of the elements of the country’s stability, Fiscal Council member Vladimir Vuckovic said Monday.

“In that regard, it is important that we do not give up on the path toward the EU,” Vuckovic noted.

It is a direction Serbia should aspire to, and it is less important whether it will reach the objective in five or 10 years, he added.

“It is important that we do not change this strategic orientation as it will be a sign that we are continuing to build our society, institutions and laws,” Vuckovic told Tanjug.
