Serbia’s Minister of Labour and Social Policy Rasim Ljajic stated that volunteering is of immense importance for the individual and the state as a whole and that efforts should be made to expand the capacity of volunteer organisations and awareness of the general public.
Speaking at a national conference “Make a Change – Volunteer”, Ljajic stressed that with 2011 being the European Year of Volunteering and 5 December the International Volunteer Day, it is particularly important to remind the public that Serbia created the legal framework with the aim of raising citizens’ awareness of the importance and value of volunteer activities.
