Serbia, The famous Beobanka building will soon be in a new glory
, NewsThe construction company Marera Construction announced that it was hired to carry out construction works on the rehabilitation and reconstruction of the existing structure of the famous Beobanka building on Belgrade’s Zeleni Venec, at the corner of Brankova and Carica Milica streets.
The new, modern office building, which will be called BRANKOV Business Center, will cover a total area of 10,500 square meters, of which 8,300 are intended for rent, Marera Construction said.
“The building will have a total of 13 floors, and after the reconstruction, it will be characterized by an imposing entrance hall, the use of sustainable materials in accordance with global trends, and a green roof terrace that will be located on the sixth floor with a beautiful panoramic view of the capital,” they announced in a statement, with a reminder that the building was built in 1960 as a business building of “Energoprojekt”, designed by architect Milica Šterić.
“Taking into account the year of construction of the building, its peculiarities and the initial idea, there are a number of challenges and specificities of the building that are typical for these types of buildings. It is very demanding and rewarding when working on such projects because they imply a proactive approach to the works and the application of the best business practices, engineering logic and skills,” said Nemanja Ilić, director, in a written statement.
That company states that it has proven expertise in the field of reconstruction of buildings and restoration of old buildings in the center of Belgrade, and as particularly successful projects they point out the reconstruction of the former Beko factory in Donji Dorćol, which is today known as the Kalemegdan Business Center, then the reconstruction of “Beograđanka”, as well as BIGZ building, on which works are in the final phase.
