The Minister of Mining and Energy, Zorana Mihajlovic, stated today that the procedure for obtaining permits for the installation of solar panels will be simplified by new laws on energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy sources, and that the entire procedure will be completed in four steps.
“After the project is made, the local self-government gives approval, because a building permit is no longer needed. After the installation of the system, a contract is signed with the local distribution, which will also be simple,” stated Mihajlovic in the announcement.
According to her, the Law on Energy Efficiency and Rational Use of Energy and the Law on the Use of Renewable Energy Sources will enable households to reduce consumption and costs of electricity, but also contribute to a healthier environment and increase the share of energy obtained from renewable sources.
She added that the state will also subsidize the installation of solar panels, and when it comes to the replacement of carpentry and insulation, she said that she expects the first contracts with the citizens to be signed in August.
“We spend 40 percent more energy in our households than the average EU household. By replacing the carpentry and insulation, we will save, spend less energy. We expect the first contracts with the citizens in August, and the results of the next heating season will be seen,” said Mihajlovic, Politika reports.
